The Principles Behind Every Academy Experience

These standards guide how The Academy teaches, builds tools and supports dog-and-handler teams.

The Standards

  1. 01

    Training Comes First

Every feature should help a team understand what to work on and return to practical training.

  2. 02

    Simple by Design

The member experience should remain one-handed, clear and understandable in about one minute. Open → Choose → Close → Train.

  3. 03

The Team Matters More Than the Score

Progress is private, practical and personal. No public leaderboards, competitive scoring or comparison-based status.

  4. 04

    Exposure Must Be Thoughtful

Exposure includes controlled experience with environments, sounds, surfaces, people, animals, objects, motion and distractions. It is not forced greeting or uncontrolled flooding.

  5. 05

Training Must Adapt to Real Life

Sessions should work whether a team has five minutes at home, a short walk, a city environment or time for a longer outdoor session.

  6. 06

    Progress Should Not Create Pressure

No punishment for missed days and no expectation that every team trains on the same schedule.

  7. 07

    No Artificial Finish Line

Training continues through proofing, changing environments, new challenges and stronger partnership.

  8. 08

    Private Means Private

Notes, reflections, progress and personal training records remain private unless deliberately shared through an approved feature.

  9. 09

    Community Without Comparison

The community should be supportive, inclusive and non-competitive.

  10. 10

    Quality Over Noise

Resources should be purposeful, searchable and useful. The objective is clarity, not more scrolling.

Final Statement

Training Never Stops. But the Screen Should.
